Q. What kind of service does Newsgroups.com provide?
A. We are a World-Wide Usenet service provider. We provide high speed Usenet access to customers around the world.
Q. What payment option are avaliable?
A. We accept credit card payment from almost all credit card types.
Q. What are you server addresses for my newsreader?
A. The server address is News.Newsgroups.com and you can use ports 119. The SSL port is 563 and the address is Secure.Newsgroups.com For more information about our servers and how to correctly configure your newsreader please visit our server address page.
Q. Do you limit download speed like my current Usenet service does?
A. No, we allow you to connect at whatever speed you are capable of. Your speed will be determined by such things as Internet traffic, your Internet connection speed, and your route to our servers.
Q. How do I check how much I've downloaded?
A. Checking your balance is a piece of cake once you go to the Members Area. Our member's area overview shows how to check bandwidth and use the Newsgroups.com members area.
Q. When will my account renew?
A. Monthly accounts are automatically renewed at the end of your billing cycle, until you cancel. A billing cycle is not the same as a calendar month. Your billing cycle starts on the date you sign up and is rebilled thirty days from your signup date. You currently cannot renew your account earlier.
Q. How do I change my account informaton?
A. Both your password and your email address can be updated if you log into the Member's Area and click the change information button on the bottom of the page.
Q. How do I cancel my account?
A. Your account can be canceled from within the Newsgroups.com members area. If you experience any difficulties canceling your account please submit a support case to our billing department.
Q. How do I open more then one connection to your servers?
A. Some of the more popular newsreaders such as News Bin Pro and Ultraleecher allow you to have more than one simultaneous connection. Newsgroups.com recommends free newsreader called GrabIt which also offers simultaneous connections. This will speed up your downloads by having more than one download stream going at a time. Some newsreaders will not allow you to open more than one stream.
Q. How do I report spamming or DMCA notices?
A. Please report Usenet abuse such as spamming and DMCA requests to our abuse/dmca team. If you find an infringing post or post(s) you would like removed please contact us using our DMCA report form or send an email to dmca (@) newsgroups.com. Q. Which plans include SSL Security Encryption?
A. All Newsgroups.com plans include 256bit SSL encryption.
Q. Usenet seems complicated.. Is it?
A. Yes and no. With Newsgroups.com's tutorials we try our best to make Usenet less complicated then it has to be. Please visit our tutorial page for information on how to setup and configure GrabIt with our Usenet system.
Q. What is SSL Usenet Connections?
A. Like the internet Usenet uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to encrypt the information as it travels across the internet. SSL was implemented years ago by Usenet providers to ensure that ISP (Internet Service Providers) couldn't limit your connection speeds. When using SSL connections on Usenet you are using port 563 which isn't throttled by most internet providers allowing you full speed connections to our high speed Usenet servers.
